Two Thoughts

Friday fun! And sorry, no reviews, check back Monday.

Meantime, two things:

1) Actual Depressing Conversation:

ME: Man, I'm starting to think someone could make a really good movie out of this new run of X-Factor.

KILLJOY: Yeah, but you just know they'd cast Dane Cook as Madrox.

ME: ...

ME: ...

ME: Let's not speak of this again.

2) Check the following upcoming Marvel cover image:

My three immediate reactions:

A) Oh please oh please oh please oh please let the Hulk turn the Sentry into a human exclamation point.

B) Is that sad drunk lady intended to represent a comics fan or a Marvel editor?

C) Oh, so that's how the Superhero Registration Act makes the world safer.

Yeah, I had to laugh (in a really sad way) when I saw how much property damage the Mighty Avengers did this week, when they're supposed to be the shiny faces of the Registration Act. And what do they do, surrounded by a burning New York? Do they rush to save lives, in this new, more socially responsible and realistic world? No, they stand around thinking about how much they want to bang each other.

Jeez...

And as if seventy issues of Hulk Smash wasn't boring enough, that's the exact same pose the Hulk has been in on all the covers I've seen so far.

Well, but Kelvin, if the Mighty Avengers REALLY did start not causing massive amounts of death and destruction, then where would DAMAGE CONTROL be? You can't tell me that Stark Industries doesn't own a percentage of THAT stock!

Good point, Sally. We'll probably see it all happen in next year's 140-part Corporate Takeover crossover!

Followed by 2009's 320 part Tort Reform mega-event!

By the way, Chris, how dare you unleash your #1 item on my feeble mind? I'm gonna have nightmares about that for weeks.

Regarding 2), If that doesn't occur hopefully with the return of the real Thor in an ongoing, we will see the Sentry, the first Thor clone, extinguished there. The stupid Sentry was always a cheap knockoff of Thor, and if the Thunder God is returning there's really no need to keep him around anymore right? ...Right?

Unless Thor2007 removes his silly silver tracksuit, he can stay dead.
